Frances Veres

Fran has been a violinist with the Tucson Symphony since 1982.  She was orchestra director of Rincon/University High School for twenty-three years until her recent retirement.  Since that time, she has been involved as a teaching artist with the Opening Minds through the Arts (OMA) program, as well as adjunct instructor in the music education department of the University of Arizona.  She is also a percussionist with the Arizona Symphonic Winds, a string coach and assistant conductor for the Foothills Phil Intergenerational Orchestra, and both violinist and librarian for the Tucson Pops Orchestra.  She is in demand state wide as a string clinician and adjudicator.

Her honors include being named the 2005 Arizona Orchestra Public School Teacher of the Year and the O.M. Hartsell Excellence in Teaching Award.  She shares her musical endeavors with her husband, Laszlo.
