Alicia Hagerman was born in Hong Kong and moved to Tucson in 1978 at the age of 9.  While growing up in Tucson, she was a member of Tucson Jr. Strings, and graduated from Sahuaro High School.  Alicia earned a BM in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and an MM from the University of Akron.  She was a freelance musician for many years in Cleveland, paying her way through college as a strolling violinist at a five star restaurant.  Alicia performed with the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.  She returned to Tucson near the end of 1999 and has been a violinist with the Tucson Symphony since 2000. Alicia is also a member of the Tucson Pops and the Arianna String Quartet, teaches violin and viola, and is a teaching artist for the OMA Project at TUSD.  When not involved with music, Alicia likes to spend time with her husband Scott and their young daughter Sydney.
