Richard and Sonny PDF Print E-mail

Fall 2013

We lost two members of our family this past August, and they've left a hole on stage and in our hearts that cannot be filled. Richard Leek had been a member of the TSO bass section since 1967, and Rebecca Son ("Sonny") began playing with the orchestra in 2006. We will miss making music with you, Richard and Sonny.  TSO loses two musicians in same week

Please join us in welcoming the newest members of the Tucson Symphony: Joseph Muñoz (trombone), Adrienne Geisler (violin), Ikuko Kanda (violin), and Ian Jones (cello). Check out their bios on the orchestra roster page to learn more about them. You may have also noticed some familiar faces in new positions this season: Sara Fraker is the new principal oboist of the TSO, and cellist Anne Gratz is acting principal for the 2011-2012 season. Congratulations to both of them!

Fall 2010

You may have noticed some new faces on stage this season.  Please join us in welcoming Lillian Copeland (principal oboe), Laura Stoutenborough (principal clarinet), David Cohen (principal trumpet), David Morgan (principal tuba), Cindy Behmer (oboe) and Diane Zelickman (violin) to the TSO family.  We are thrilled that they have joined the orchestra, and look forward to a season of great music making.

 
Musical Marriages PDF Print E-mail

We would like to extend congratulations to the TSO's latest newlyweds!  Betsy Bright (trumpet) and David Morgan (principal tuba designate) tied the knot in May, and Anne Gratz (cello) and Jeremy Softley (stage manager) were married in June.  They join several other couples within the TSO family.  Please see our profile of some of these musical marriages to learn more.

 
Just for Kids 2009 - Flute, Viola, Harp Trio PDF Print E-mail

The TSO Flute, Viola, Harp Trio performs at Just for Kids on November 7, 2009. Pat Watrous, flute; Ann Weaver, viola, Patricia Harris, harp. The featured piece for this Just for Kids was Sam and the Crazy Daisy commissioned by the trio, and authored and composed by TSO violinist Michael Fan in 2005.
